This course is designed for those with working experience of confined spaces and who hold CS level 1 certification or similar.

Theory:
The course will give an in depth awareness of the Confined spaces regulations and related legislation such as the work at height regulations. An understanding of risk assessment, method statement and the hazards relating to working in confined spaces.
The candidate will also have an in depth awareness of how emergencies arise and the need to follow prepared emergency procedures including advanced theory of breathable and toxic gases, gas detection systems and breathing apparatus.
As with work at height, rescue and rescue planning is a high priority so in depth knowledge of rescue is essential to this course.
Care and maintenance of PPE and rescue equipment.

Practical:
The candidate will be:

Shown and be able to use work at height PPE and a wide variety of rescue equipment including the use of stretchers for evacuation of injured casualties.
Shown and be able to use a ten minute escape set and other breathing apparatus.
Shown and be able to use appropriate gas detection meters.
Carry out various rescue scenarios in realistic conditions.

This is a bespoke course and dates will be arranged as required

Candidates should have an appropriate fitness level
An indicator of minimum fitness level would be being able to perform 25 sit ups, 25 Press ups and 5 pull ups easily.
