Practical and theoretical course aimed at the alternative power industry for those who may be called to work at height on a daily basis specifically on wind turbines and who require training in specific rescue equipment.
Theory:
The course will give an in depth awareness of: Care and selection of personal equipment, falling dynamics and post fall rescue, work at height & workplace regulations, PPE regulations and the lifting regulations. Risk assessment and planning will form part of the assessment on day two.
Practical:
Practical climbing and rescue using industry accepted methods and equipment. Candidates will be trained in specific rescue techniques including rescue from a latchway system. No abseil rescue procedures are taught on this course.
The assessment on the afternoon of day two will include a practical climbing and rescue exercise and a question paper including a simple risk assessment / planning exercise.
This is a bespoke course and dates will be arranged as required
Candidates should have an appropriate fitness level
An indicator of minimum fitness level would be being able to perform 25 sit ups, 25 Press ups and 5 pull ups easily.
